I am looking for a Machine Learning research position in the US. I am willing to relocate anywhere, though my preference is jobs on the east coast. I summarize my research expertise below. My body of research is focused on distributed artificial intelligence and efficient algorithm design. Modern AI and machine learning face unique challenges including globally distributed participants, multimodal datasets, and extremely large models. Moving forward, it is necessary to design AI tools to reduce its cost in time, money, and ecological footprint. My ongoing work is focused around designing machine learning algorithms to be efficient by design, utilizing various techniques such as message/gradient compression, flexible and unsupervised training procedures, and feature selection methods.
