Company Description
The Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) is a national trade association based in Washington, DC providing educational and advocacy assistance to innovative and entrepreneurial medical technology companies. Since 1992, MDMA has been the voice for medical technology innovation, playing a proactive role in helping to shape policies that impact the ecosystem. This is accomplished by working with key Members of Congress, senior staff at FDA, CMS and other agencies, and through the grassroots support of our members.
MDMA's Mission
MDMA's mission is to promote public health and improve patient care through the advocacy of innovative, research-driven medical device technology.
MDMA Advocacy
MDMA plays a proactive role in helping to shape policy that impacts the medical device innovator. To achieve these goals, MDMA represents its members' collective interests before the United States Congress, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other federal agencies that develop or implement policies that affect the medical device industry. MDMA encourages its members to actively engage in the advocacy process through MDMA Working Group participation and grassroots mobilization.
MDMA Membership
MDMA offers three types of membership: active, associate, and allied. Active membership is reserved for manufacturers of medical devices (OEMs). Associate membership is for non-manufacturers with a vested interest in the innovative medical technology industry; such as law firms, venture capital firms and consultants. Allied membership consists of contract manufacturers and distributors of medical devices.
