Judith Cushman has been President of Seattle-based Judith Cushman & Associates since 1996. Prior to that, she was President of Marshall Consultants/West, the first retained firm specialized in communications searches established in New York City and then on the West Coast.

Ms. Cushman leads national search efforts ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to agencies and smaller companies. She approaches a search strategically with up-front, in-depth analysis of the company, the position and the candidate profile. She partners with her clients to bring a value-added perspective to the process. The firm focuses on the long term and expects to maintain ongoing relationships with both candidates and clients. Ms. Cushman publishes a newsletter, “The Cushman Report” and also writes a Blog, “Judith Cushman’s Blog” identifying career issues and trends for VP-level executives.
She has maintained long term memberships with a variety of professional organizations and was a founding member of NIRI (the National Investor Relations Institute) one of the original Seattle Chapter Members of IABC (the International Association of Business Communicators) and is a 30+ year member of PRSA (Public Relations Society of America.)
Ms Cushman is a founding member and formerly on the Board of Women in Bio (Seattle Chapter), is a Benefactor of the Pilchuck Glass School, the Museum of Glass, is on the Advisory Board of the Bellevue Arts Museum and a Member of the Barre of the Pacific NW Ballet. She is currently involved in a global international celebration of the introduction of the first dry copier and a revival of interest in Xerographic (Copy Art) in honor of her late sister’s contributions to this art form.
She completed course work for an MS in Public Relations at the School of Public Communications, Boston University, and received a BA in European History from Barnard College in New York City. Her hobbies include organizing wine tours, Tai Chi, boating, studying French and gourmet cuisine. She is married, the mother of a son and daughter and resides in the Seattle area.
