What is in a name?  The IBM i has replaced the IBM iSeries which replaced the IBM AS400, yet we still identify with the old name. The AS400 dates back to 1988. IBM replaced the AS400 with the iSeries in 2000 and replaced it with the IBM i Power Chip Servers in 2008.  If you are still saying you have an AS400, people will think you are either in the dark ages of IBM computing or just not aware of the differences between the modern Power 7 & Power 8 Enterprise Servers and the modernization of IBM i development tools, security, flexibility and openness of the modern IBM i. For the benefit of all of us who have trouble calling it by it’s proper name, we still need to use the word “AS400” in our web site.
